You were my lover and best friend for 68 years and 9 months.

 

Dearly loved and loving father and father-in-law of Lyn and Bob, adored Poppy and Poppy Kev to Jo, Steve and Breanna, Lachlan and Dillon Michelle, Trev, Alex, Drew, Emmet and Lila, Mat, Sam, Ayvah and Evan.

Treasured Pop of Lee and Scott, Bohdan and Ines, Great grandpop of Cooper, Ashton, Lawson and James.

As I sit and look across the sea, I think of years gone by,

Of a Man who taught me how to laugh, and sometimes how to cry.

He had a smile for everyone, a giving heart so true,

He’d give a swaggie his last quid and say “I hope it sees you through”.

He had a sense of humor as everybody knows,

Even in his dying hour he said “Give my love to Rose”.

I have to stop writing now and wipe away my tears,

So have fun up in heaven Dad, and don’t drink all the beer.

Kevin Jacobs left home on 13.1.2022,

your reign of practical jokes and stories of times past has come to an end, your wild and mostly fraudulent stories will be repeated by those who love you.

Your practical jokes will encourage the generations after you to not take life so seriously and to know there is always room for laughter no matter the circumstances.

The love, endless laughter and tears of joy and sometimes fear, will forever stay with us

Dad have a wonderful afterlife where the rabbits are plenty, the ferrets and nets are at the ready and the greyhounds always run fast.

A Thanksgiving Service for the life of Mr. Kevin George Jacobs will be held in the chapel at the Bendigo Crematorium, 5 Victoria St., Eaglehawk, on WEDNESDAY (January 19) at 2 pm.
