Our Farewells
“Gone Walkabout”
My Mum, Friend and Matriarch,
How can we have to say goodbye so soon, and so quickly?
You travelled the world with me and each of your grandsons.
You took us to the Pacific Islands, Papua New Guinea, North Korea, Egypt, Greece, Japan, Thailand, Singapore, Mexico, and the USA.
You shared with us your passion for cooking and adventure. You connected with each of us at a personal level and supported us to grow into the strong individuals we are.
You were so intelligent and will be remembered by everyone for your integrity and strength.
Spread your wings and continue your travels
Loved and missed – Your eldest daughter, Trudy Dawn, and grandson’s James Alexander, Harry Scott, and Oscar Peter.
Abuela,
You taught us that life was to be lived to its fullest, and experiences treasured.
Flynn and Jessica loved their adventures with you and will treasure them always.
Taken too soon, missed so much
Our hearts are broken
Always in our hearts
Love Dee, Sean, and grandchildren Jessica and Flynn.
Mum,
I was your only son and you were my only mum.
You taught me the morals I have today.
You told me to always look forward and never backward.
I was inspired by the way you travelled and lived life.
We had amazing conversations throughout my life.
You were not just my mother but also my best friend.
Forever missed and always remembered
Andrew Michael Boyd Firth.
Dear Nan Firth,
You made everyone feel accepted, loved and welcome.
I cherish the time I spent with you.
You will be missed by me and my whole family.
Love your grandson, Harrison Paul Mullins.
Dearest Mum,
Thank you for being an incredible Mum, Mother-in-Law and Abuela.
From your love of world travel to staying abreast of current events and having the most generous conversations with all of us.
You enriched our lives in ways we will be forever grateful for.
You are one of a kind and we adore you. We miss you every day.
All our love Ardene and Theo and your grandchildren Arkie and Georgie Dawn.

Sandra’s non-partisan influences as both TV and Radio News Editor on the regional New South Wales media landscape were unparalleled at the time. Many a local state or federal MP or Wagga Wagga Mayor, Counsellor or leading business person eagerly sought her counsel.
Sandra was quite the raconteur, especially centred on her wildly off beat lifetimes of overseas travels. Whether that be canoeing down the Sepek River in Papua New Guinea, taking a berth on a cargo ship as she traversed the Indian Ocean or other modes of antepodean travel and adventures. Europe, Yemen and the Middle East among others. These tales summoned images of Somerset Maugham or Robert Louis Stevenson. That was the flavour – being transported back in time.
Sandra’s generosity of time and spirit across the generations up and down, allowed so many to be beneficiaries.
She was very proud of all her family. Vale Sandra Firth.
Dear Sandra,
so special intelligent, brilliant, ironic…the best host mother I could ever receive in my experience of exchange student…just 15 minutes ago I realized you passed in another dimension…coincidence because I often think of you or remember shots of our lives together but very rarely look for your name in internet…but today I did it and now I understand why…to have the chance to thank the existence for one of the best experiences in my life meeting your unique personality. I still keep in my heart our long and deep conversations, I was only 17 but, since then, I kept a very special place for you (and of course all the beautiful Firth family) in my heart. It has been very touching to read what Trudy, Diane, Ardene and my dear ‘brother’ Andrew wrote…love you all from Italy
