Well Dougie, I don’t know where to begin. You have been my best mate for 50 years, 46 of those years as my much loved and loving husband. Your good heart, generous nature, community spirit, sense of humour and cheeky ways will be remembered, not to mention those big brown eyes and long dark lashes. I can’t imagine life without you – we fitted so much love and so many laughs into our life together. Rest easy now Dougie, you never deserved the pain and suffering you endured over the past few years.
Until we meet again, your loving wife and best mate, Ruth.
Dad, you battled to stay with us, until you knew we were ok and had said our goodbyes. We knew you could always hear us, and that you always will. Our tears keep falling, but we are glad you are free. You were such a fun-loving, kind and clever man who was so well respected.
I already miss you and our cuddles and that cheeky grin so much. Give Nan a hug from me.
‘See ya mate’ until we meet again.
Love you so much, Becky, Adam, Jane and John
Dad, you’ve worked so hard, but now it’s time to put down your tools, take off your boots and hang up your hat.
We already miss you so much, but you’ve earned your rest.
Nan has a cake and a cuppa waiting for you. Give her a kiss for us.
You’ll live forever in our hearts until we can hug you again.
Molly, Kev, Georgia and Lily
Dad, we know you’re looking down upon us, free of all frustration and pain, a sparkle in your eye, rockin’ in your winklepickers.
You’re so badly missed, we adore you so much.
Always in our hearts.
We love you. Emmy, Rod, Jay and Tayla
Dad, your life was cheated and you left us too soon. You were too young to be taken away from us. You should be enjoying the rest of your life with Mum and playing with your grandchildren, but yet we mourn your death. We will never forget what a wonderful, generous and loving person you were. You will be greatly missed and in our hearts forever. I will always be your girl, Dad.

God saw you were getting tired and a cure was not to be.
So he put his arms around you and whispered “Come to Me”
