All our staff are from diverse backgrounds and are carefully chosen and trained to ensure we maintain our high standards. Andrew loves being involved with families to help them farewell their loved ones. Andrew and Heather are proud to own and operate William Farmer, which has been part of Bendigo’s history for the past 150 years. They strive to ensure that honesty; integrity; care; and compassion; are the cornerstones of the way they operate their business. They continue to look for new ways to improve the experience for their client families, staff, and community.
Andrew was educated at Gravel Hill, Bendigo High School, Dookie College and the Bendigo College of Advanced Education (now La Trobe University). Andrew has always been involved with the community and has been an active member and volunteer of:- Apex, CFA, Rotary, Bendigo Yacht Club, Land Care and the Bendigo Caledonian Society.
Heather manages the office, looks after the marketing, arranges funerals and assists on funeral services. She helps those who wish to pre-plan their funeral services by discussing and recording their wishes. Heather is a very caring, thoughtful and friendly person, who is always trying to make life a little bit easier for their families.
Heather grew up in Bendigo and attended Girton College and Bendigo High School. In her younger years she played basketball, Netball and Tennis. She also enjoyed coaching Netball. Heather and Andrew met at her first job at Hampton’s Newsagency, and since then have worked together for the majority of their lives. They are married and have 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
Jesse has been a Bendigo local for many years now. Jesse joined the William Farmer team in 2012 and whilst being a young funeral director his commitment to his work and dedication to the families we care for is paramount. He finds it a great honour to look after and care for families, and to assist them to celebrate their loved ones life in a unique, individual and special way.
Jesse is an active member of the community through his involvement with the State Emergency Service, Cystic Fibrosis, Bendigo Easter Festival and sporting groups. He enjoys exploring new technology, trends and ways to create a different experience for the families of William Farmer.
Alan was born, educated and married in Bendigo. After leaving school, he spent fifteen years as a joiner/ carpenter and many years owning and operating several types of businesses in Bendigo. Alan has been married to Keryn for thirty six years, and his two children are now married, and are overjoyed to have two beautiful grandchildren. Alan loves to share time with his family and in the garden. He has a great interest in cricket, football, golf and travel.
Alan has been in the funeral industry since 2000 and he’s enjoyed his time at William Farmer since 2009. Alan is committed to providing outstanding service to families at a very vulnerable time in their lives.
Ron’s attention to detail in guiding families through planning a funeral celebration is a reflection of the care given by the William Farmer team. Specific training in mortuary technology and procedures along with grief counselling are part of his commitment to helping families through some of their most difficult times.
Caring for families loved ones with respect and dignity is often rewarded with comments from families after a viewing. Ron joined the William Farmer team in 2007, after returning home to settle again in Bendigo. Ron is enjoying renewing friendships and meeting new families.
Jessica is our window to the community. She greets you when visiting our office and is the friendly comforting voice you are greeted with when you ring William Farmer. She is a country girl from Charlton and has been enjoying her dream job.
Jessica was asked to join the team at William Farmer after completing her work experience in 2013. With her caring nature and broad knowledge of the services we provide, she is able to direct family’s enquiries to the rest of our helpful team.
Jessica’s interests include spending time with her family and friends, showing dogs and travelling.
